"Vietnam's archaeological treasures" exhibion to be organised in Germany

A special exhibition themed "Archaeological treasures of Vietnam" will be held at the LWL Museum in Germany from October 7 to February 26, 2017.

More than 400 of Vietnam’s archaeological treasures will be displayed at the LWL Museum in Germany from October 7 to February 26, 2017 to celebrate more than 40 years of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Germany.

The exhibitions from the collections of eight museums throughout Vietnam, as well as pictures and videos about the landscapes and cultural heritage of the country, will make this a must-see event.
Other objects on display will include jade jewellery from the Stone Age, arrows, animal-head earrings and a two-metre-tall Buddha statue.
Visitors to the museum will have an opportunity to go on a journey back in time through thousands of years to admire a boat’s hull, an eight-metre-tall temple, large bronze drums, funeral items, jade spears and large dragon heads.
The exhibition is being held under the auspices of Vietnamese Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien and German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
The exhibition focuses on archaeological discoveries in the past 60 years that are less known in EuropeIn recent decades.
Vietnam is the only nation in the Southeast Asian region that has conducted a large number of archaeological excavations and has built many museums.
The exhibition will be organised at two other museums after the LWL Museum in Germany until 2018.
