With the goal of becoming a research university in 2037 and ranking in the top of Asia`s 60 best universities, Ton Duc Thang University in Ho Chi Minh City focuses on developing education, science and technology towards internationalization and world-class.

In 2014, TDTU first joined the UK's QS Stars rating system and in early 2015 it was recognized as a 3/5-star university.

In early 2018, QS Stars re-evaluated and TDTU has grown in all aspects compared to 2015 to officially become the first university in Vietnam to obtain 4/5 stars.

In this evaluation, TDTU obtained four stars in the employability category, based on surveys of employers, graduate employment rates, and career service support. This ranking is valid for three years (from July 2018 to July 2021).

Addressing the ceremony, Rector of TDTU Prof. Dr. Le Vinh Danh introduced a number of the milestones the facility has recorded in over 20 years of its development.

He said the university was ranked among the top 250 sustainable establishments voted by the UI Greenmetric World University Rankings last year, as well as taking the lead in the number of scientific results published in international journals according to the Clarivate Analytics’ Web of Science.

In the academic year 2017-2018, the percentage of students who create their own jobs and get a job within one year of their graduation
with high starting salary was 100% - the highest ever, Danh added.

In addition, Danh said that the enrollment for 2018 - 2019 school year has received 6,476 new students, reached 105.08% of the published quotas. The fundamental principle TDTU pursued is to persist in educating students in a comprehensive way.

With the goal of becoming a research university in 2037 and ranking in the top of 60 best universities in Asia, the university is focusing on developing education, science and technology towards internationalization and world-class, Danh stressed.

Speaking at the ceremony, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Bui Van Cuong suggested that TDTU continues to improve the quality of teaching and learning, well perform the role of training human resources for the country, including training to improve the quality of trade union staff.

On this occasion, TDTU awarded scholarships to students who have achieved excellent academic achievements and good achievements in scientific research and fine arts.

Besides, the university also gives scholarships to poor students in four provinces of Binh Thuan, Gia Lai, Lam Dong, Binh Dinh, Ninh Thuan and universities signed with TDTU with a total value of VND5.5 billion (US$236,500).
