According to Nguyen Ngoc Bao, deputy director of the authority, in order to keep the passion for books aflame in the midst of social distancing, the MIC takes advantage of information technology to organize the online book fair and celebrate the 7th Vietnam Book Day.

Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Hoang Vinh Bao expected that this online exhibition will help readers have greater access to books and boost reading habits in the period that the whole country is struggling with the Covid-19 pandemic.

“At the same time, it would also help the publishing houses open up a new direction, develop the book market as well as better contribute to the national society and the economy.”

Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Hoang Vinh Bao

This year’s book fair draws the participation of nearly 50 publishers and distributors displaying nearly 10,000 items with discounts of 25% and free delivery. The book fair is applied with advanced 4.0 technologies sponsored by Vitranet24 such as technologies for online seminar, online book platform and chat-call for social networks.

In the framework of the fair, online seminars between writers, celebrities and readers using the latest online social networking technology 4.0; competitions on book review, critic and reading with attractive prizes to attract the attention of readers have been held.

According to the organizers, the price of each book includes a 3% of contribution to the Covid-19 prevention support fund.
