Vietnam’s T&T Group sign agreement on cooperation in investment urban railway project

Vietnam’s T&T Group and Bouygues Group have signed the document are a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in investment in the US$1.7 billion urban railway project No. 3.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong and French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris on March 27.

With urban railway project No. 3, Vietnam’s T&T Group to investment in the form of public-private partnership (PPP). Build-transfer (BT) contracts will connecting Hanoi’s centre with it suburb town of Son Tay. Its total investment are estimated at US$1.7 billion. In addition, Bouygues Group and Vietnam’s T&T Group also sign cooperation agreement worth US$309.60 million to renovate Vietnam’s Hang Day Stadium.
At the headquarters of the Movement of the Enterprises of France, General Secretary Trong witnessed the exchange of some cooperation documents between the two countries’ businesses. Vietnamese airline Vietjet and French group Safran – CFM signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on comprehensive cooperation in providing engines and technical and maintenance services worth US$6.5 billion for Vietjet airplanes.
Other cooperation documents included a contract between Vietjet and Gecas France on buying six A321 neo airplanes worth US$800 million on hire-purchase, an MoU between FPT and Airbus on building capacity and consulting staff and developing the Skywise data platform of Airbus, an MoU between FPT and Geopost on helping to modernise the IT system and improving the operation efficiency of Geopost.
In addition, National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and AFI KLM E&M have signed a long term flight hour support contract covering the GEnx engines equipping the Vietnamese flag carrier’s fleet of Boeing 787s, which will grow to 19 Aircraft by 2021.
Under the US$500 million contract, AFM KLM E&M will handle maintenance of Vietnam Airlines’ 787 GEnx engines for 12 years. AFI KLM E&M also provides spare engine access for Vietnam Airlines to guarantee seamless continuity of its operations. This major agreement between Vietnam Airlines and AFI KLM E&M marks a significant phase in ensuring the smooth operation of Boeing 787-9 and successful implementation of our strategy to expand our fleet and route network.
