Visual performances to light up Hanoi’s Old Quarter

A series of night tours called Hanoi Night - Touching Point of Emotions will be launched from November 24 to 26.

Locals and tourists will have the opportunity to enjoy the light shows that will take place at 22 Hang Buom Cultural and Arts Center and Quan Chuong Gate from November 24 to 26. The event is held within the framework of the launching ceremony of Hanoi Night Tours 2023.

According to the municipal Department of Tourism, Hanoi will offer 15-night tours featuring completely new contents and forms in the coming times, aiming to foster local tourism and diversify night tourism offers.

The event's opening ceremony will take place at 8pm on November 24. For the first time, at 22 Hang Buom Cultural and Arts Center, visitors will have a chance to admire an impressive light show. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the beauty of Hanoi's night through the lens of art in the heart of a typical capital heritage.

Thirteen tangible and intangible heritages represent outstanding cultural and historical values of Hanoi, such as the Long Bien Bridge, Quan Chuong Gate, One Pillar Pagoda, Pen Tower, Hang Trong paintings, Chuong Village conical hats, Thang Long Imperial Citadel, among others will be the highlight of the grand light performance.

Also, at the ceremony, Hanoi is expected to announce its recognition of Hoan Kiem Lake and surrounding areas and Hanoi Old Quarter as a City’s Level Travel Destination and the launch of the "Welcome to Hanoi" tourism photo contest-themed Hanoi night tour.

Visitors to the lighting show entitled “Hanoi Night - Touching Point of Emotions” that will take place at 8pm on November  24, 25 and 26 will be able to enjoy modern-light and folk-art performances with the theme of “Dialogue between light and architectural space at 22 Hang Buom”.

On the evenings of the same days, there will be a visual art performance of 3D mapping at Quan Chuong Gate in the Old Quarter area, featuring impressive images with the theme of Hanoi's heritage. The performance promises to bring visitors a new and impressive experience with the combination of modern technology and the ancient space of Quan Chuong Gate at night.

In addition, other cultural events will also be held at 22 Hang Buom Cultural Center during the above mention days, including Hang Trong painting art workshops; bamboo, rattan and Truc chi painting-making classes, folk performances of tuong, cheo, cai luong and Vietnamese ethnic musical instrument ensembles.

The capital's tourism industry is determined to make night tourism a key product to develop the local nighttime economy to attract more locals and internationals and encourage them to stay longer and spend more while they are in Hanoi.
