According to the announcement of the Vietnam Television (VTV) on November 9, it has acquired the right to the airing of the 2016 Southeast Asia Federation (AFF) Football Championship, or AFF Suzuki Cup 2016, in the entire Vietnam.

The AFF Cup 2016 finals will be held from November 19 to December 17 with the participation of eight teams divided into two groups.
Group A includes Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore and host Philippines while Group B consists of Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia and the host nation Myanmar.
The two top teams in each group will qualify for the semi-finals from which the teams will play home-and-away games to decide the winner
The VTV will broadcast all 18 matches at the AFF Cup 2016 on VTV6 and VTV6 HD channels as well as its website and app.
The VTV owns the right to allow organisations in Vietnam to re-broadcast the intact programme of terrestrial TV on the condition that they do not share with paid TV forms like cable TV and satellite TV.
