The Chairman highlighted that Hanoi has used effectively the WB’s capital which were focused on investing in projects of technical infrastructure development, urban transport and environmental remediation.
He noted that the city prioritizes to develop modern transport systems, such as urban railways in order to strengthen public passenger transportation.
Hanoi also targets to plant about 1 million trees and construct 25 parks, Chung added.
According to the Hanoi leader, the capital city has so far implemented the mechanization of garbage collection, set up 10 monitoring stations to measure its air operations, and piloted the modern technology application to wastewater treatments.
Hanoi is calling on domestic and foreign investors to build modern treatment systems of solid waste and industrial waste in industrial parks, traditional villages and from the construction sites, Chairman Chung said.
“As many as 20 investors want to participate in these tasks", the chairman added.
Hanoi needs huge investments to reach the above objectives, Chung noted, and express his desire that the WB and Director Ousmane Dione would continue to support Hanoi to implement these goals in the coming time.
For his part, Director Ousmane Dione highly appreciated the cooperation relationship between the WB and Hanoi city.
The director agreed with measures to develop Hanoi sustainably unveiled by Chairman Chung at the meeting.
Ousmane Dione said that his personal and the WB will continue to promote cooperation with Hanoi city to provide the best habitat for local residents.
He also congratulated the capital city for opening the Kim Ma-Yen Nghia BRT bus route.
