Wide range of cultural activities to be held in Hanoi to celebrate new year 2021
The activities are aimed at creating a jubilant atmosphere to welcome the new year 2021.
A series of activities with the theme “Villages and colors of flowers” to celebrate the new year 2021 is taking place at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Dong Mo tourist area, on the outskirts of Hanoi.

The highlight of the activities is an upland fair to welcome spring 2021, recreating a cultural space of upland ethnic groups with folk dance, folk games, culinary demonstration and display of forest products on the occasion of Tet holidays.
Besides, visitors at the event can enjoy folk art performances such as Khen dance - the national intangible cultural heritage of the Hmong ethnic group in Bac Kan province; the introduction of traditional crafts; the recreation of the Cam Muong festival space of the Lu ethnic group in the northern mountain province of Lai Chau and the Onro Ro ritual of the Xo Dang ethnic group in the Tay Nguyen (Central Highland) province of Kon Tum; as well as puppet performances by artists from the Vietnam National Puppetry Theater.
Within the framework of the festival, visitors can also experience the space of the buckwheat flower and the wild sunflower valleys.
The event attracts the participation of over 100 people from 16 ethnic minorities and 12 cities and provinces across the country, the Vietnam National Puppetry Theater, and among others.
These events at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism are aimed at introducing cultural features and customs of ethnic minorities with attactive tourism products, and creating a jubilant atmosphere to welcome the new year 2021.
