Winners of Vietnam Supermodel Contest 2013 announced

Model Lan Khue won first place among female models in the Vietnam Supermodel Contest, but there was no winner announced among the male models.

Lan Khue won the first place

The 25 contestants faced tough challenges in the various events, such as, catwalk, swimsuit, or question and answer. The  25 beauties then competed in five more categories including, ao dai, outfits for sports, two fashion collections named Practical and Impressive and group performance.

However, the organisers said due to a shortage of male contestants, the gold prize would only be given to a female model, Tran Ngoc Lan Khue. It was quite a coincidence that the final night took place on October 20, Vietnamese Women's Day.

Lan Khue is said to be a popular choice for the prize-winner since she has attracted a lot of attention and affection since the first day of the contest.

 Seven most promising winners

Model Jessica Minh Anh, one the judges, said, "I can see confidence in all of our contestants and I was happy to see a number of promising new models. However, I think the contestants should express their identity and personal styles a little more clearly; I think they're all capable of competing  in international model contests if they get the proper training."

Since the contest was first held in 2002, it has helped to discover and nurture many famous models such as Xuan Lan, Binh Minh and Ho Ngoc Ha.
