The first round-table economic workshop seeking cooperation on trade, investment and tourism between the two countries took place in La Valletta, capital of Malta on May 5.
Lying strategically on a maritime route linking Asia, the Middle East, North Africa and Europe, Malta is regarded as a gateway for Vietnamese goods once Vietnam and the Europe Union (EU) sign a free trade agreement in the coming time, said Ambassador to Italy and Malta Nguyen Hoang Long.
He also highlighted their fine relations in the past as a firm foundation for future broader ties in trade, investment, tourism, and education.
