The 6th Electrical Power, Transmission & Distribution Technology Exhibition and Conference opened in Ho Chi Minh City on September 17 with the participation of 182 businesses from 26 countries and territories.
The event, co-organised by the Hong Kong Exhibition Services, SES Allworld and Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Exhibition Services Company, is the leading international event in electrical power technology, automation and energy in Vietnam.
It helps to accelerate trade promotion, and technology transfer, contributing to meeting the increasing demand for power distribution and transmission in Vietnam.
VCCI Vice President Hoang Van Dungsaid the electricity market has been opened in Vietnam for 10 years, driving the electricity demand up by 15% each year.
Independent producers from Japan, Thailand, the Republic of Korea and the US and many other foreign businesses have paid more attention to business potential in Vietnam, by investing in large-scale projects like Nghi Son 2, Vung Ang 2, Van Phong 1, Vinh Tan and Thai Binh power plants.
The national electricity capacity is projected to increase from 69,000MW now to 75,000MW in 2020, creating plenty of opportunity for foreign investors to penetrate this market.
