400 golfers to compete at Hanoi Golf & Cultural Exchange Week 2022

The event is expected to become an annual capital activity to create a foundation for Hanoi tourism to attract international luxury travellers.

Hanoi Golf & Cultural Exchange Week 2022 will take place from October 17 to 23 at BRG King's Island Golf Resort or the so-called Dong Mo Golf Course in Hanoi.

This is the first culture and golf event co-organized by the Kinh te & Do thi (Economic and Urban Newspaper and the Vietnam Golf Tourism Association.

According to the organizers, the event aims to stimulate tourism, foster local socio-economic development, and promote the golf movement in the community.

In addition to golf competitions, various activities will also be organized, including the Golf Equipment Exhibition, the Golf Fashion Show, a seminar on special consumption tax on golf courses with the participation of businesses, and a cultural exchange event between local and international golfers.

At the press conference announcing the event, the editor-in-chief of Kinh Te Do Thi newspaper, Nguyen Minh Duc, said the newspaper's idea of linking golf with tourism had received enthusiastic support from the municipal government and local businesses.

“Hanoi Golf & Cultural Exchange Week 2022 is organized to foster the development of tourism in the capital city after the Covid-19 pandemic, thereby contributing to promoting the economic recovery in the locality,” he said.

He hopes the event will become an annual activity in Hanoi in the coming time.

The event attracts the participation of more than 400 local and international golfers from Thailand, Singapore and diplomatic organizations in Hanoi. Especially these golfers will join hands to contribute to the Newspaper’s social, humanitarian fund called “Tet of Love”. Various meaningful and valuable gifts will be presented to disadvantaged people during the Vietnamese traditional Lunar New Year, which usually falls in February every year.

Hanoi is home to seven high-class golf courses, which have received numerous compliments from golfers, including Long Bien Golf Course, BRG Kings’ Island Golf Resort, Van Tri Golf Club, Legend Hill Golf Resort, and Hanoi Golf Club, among others. The city expects to have another ten golf courses by the end of this year.
The number of golfers in Vietnam is steadily increasing. It is estimated that by 2025 there will be about 300,000 golfers, which is considered a favorable condition for golf tourism in Vietnam to take off soon.
