Cherry blossom festival taking place in Hanoi in 2016 not only receives the number of 10 thousand branches, 200 trees; stage decoration design, opening stage design are made by Japanese specialists. This is informed by Mr. To Van Dong - Director of Hanoi Department of Culture and Communication in the meeting on cultural exchange activities with Japan.
Representative from Hanoi Department of Culture and Communications said that although the plan of receiving Japanese cherry blossoms from a few months ago, but to ensure the quality of the exhibited flowers, at 22:30 pm on March 16, 10 thousand flowers for festival and 200 new cherry trees will be transported from Japan to Hanoi. Before making a public introduction, flowers are stored in the cold with a temperature of about 16 degrees (the same temperate and climate with Japan). "The experts of Vietnam and Japan have studied very clearly the difference in weather between the two countries to determine the period on display. Under the plan, the cherry blossoms will introduce to the public for two days, but if the weather is favorable, flowers still are fresh, the organizing committee can extend for a few more days," Mr. Van Dong said.
Beside works on display, exhibition and flower art arrangement on the background of cherry blossoms, this time, Hanoi will receive and plant 200 cherry trees at Peace Park (Bac Tu Liem District, Hanoi). The Japanese cherry trees sent to Vietnam this time have been selected from Okinawa Prefecture, of which the climate and soil are similar to Hanoi. Japanese experts will work with Vietnamese experts to care and help planting cherry flowers so that they can live and bloom in Hanoi.
