ADB optimistic about VN's GDP growth in 2015

On March 24, Asian Development Bank (ADB) released the Asian Development Outlook 2015. Accordingly, the ADB forecasts Vietnam’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth is likely to rise by 6.1 percent in 2015 and 6.2 percent in 2016.

According to the ADB's report, Vietnam's GDP grew by 6% in 2014, the highest level since 2011. Industrial sector grew by 7.1%, higher against the rate of 5.4% in 2013. High demand for real estate in the construction sector led growth of 7.1%. Agricultural sector grew by 3.5% thanks to increased exports of fish and shrimp products.

Private consumption increased by 6.1% representing that consumer confidence has been improved.
The ADB forecasts Vietnam's GDP growth will reach 6.1% in 2015 and 6.2% in 2016, in which FDI enterprises will make a great contribution to gain the increase.
