AFP's twenty incredible Olympic-themed photos on display in Hanoi

These stunning images celebrate the Games and the Olympic spirit at the world's largest sporting event, which will take place in France in 2024.

A photography exhibition entitled “Road to 2024” is being displayed on the outside walls of the French Embassy in Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi.

The photo exhibition is being organized by Agence France-Presse (AFP) with the support of Décathlon, the French sporting goods retailer.

AFP photographers captured these unique images from past Olympic competitions and events leading up to the 2024 Games in Paris. The public will be able to experience and relive the most memorable moments of these major sporting events through AFP's unique perspective, which combines expertise, creativity, and innovation.

Beyond the performances, this exhibition highlights the determination and courage that drive the athletes and allows the public to envisage what the Paris Olympics would be.

According to French Ambassador to Vietnam Nicolas Warnery, these 24 large-scale images will be on display until June 24 to inform Hanoians about the world's most important sporting event, which France will host.

"Both the Olympic and Paralympic Games will be held in Paris, the capital of France, in the summer of 2024," he said.

"I hope the exhibition will inspire and excite Vietnamese sports fans who will pass by and admire these photos in the coming weeks," he added.

Alice Philipson, AFP's representative in Hanoi, said AFP's photos confirm its position in sports and journalism. AFP sports photographers have won 12 prestigious awards in various competitions. This is one of the reasons why the photo exhibition is being held in Hanoi.

"It is hoped that through sport, people from all over the world will get to know Paris, my hometown, better," he said.

"Road to 2024" is an event within the framework of Photo Hanoi'23 - International Biennial of Photography, initiated by the French Institute in Vietnam under the auspices of the Hanoi Municipal People's Committee.
