The project concretizes the city's industrial cluster development plan.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held this week to kick off the construction of the Thanh Van-Tan Uoc Industrial Cluster Project in Thanh Oai District, on the outskirts of Hanoi.
The event made Thanh Oai the second district in Hanoi to complete the construction of technical infrastructure for all five industrial clusters.
The industrial cluster, which covers 52 hectares and has an investment of VND1.1 trillion (US$43.4 million), aims to attract 100 enterprises and become a relocation site for workshops from artisan villages.

The industrial cluster fully meets the needs of any business, with state-of-the-art facilities, infrastructure, and environmental hygiene.
In particular, the fire prevention and suppression system and the wastewater treatment system meet the standards and criteria of a green, clean, environmentally friendly, and sustainable industrial park.
According to Thanh Oai District Chairman Bui Van Sang, the district is currently home to 42 traditional handicraft villages and five industrial clusters with more than 2,000 enterprises, all providing logistic facilities. "Thanh Van-Tan Uoc is a multi-industry cluster project aimed at attracting investment in high technology, ancillary industries, and clean production," Sang said.
He added that once operational, the project will create 3,000 to 5,000 jobs and increase income for local people. "In particular, it will help create a stable source of revenue for the budget and promote the socio-economic development of the district, in line with Thanh Oai's goal of becoming a vibrant commercial hub in southern Hanoi," Sang stressed.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen urged city departments and Thanh Oai District to help the construction of the industrial cluster proceed as planned.

To maximize the project's effectiveness and support the socio-economic development of Thanh Oai District and Hanoi City as a whole, he urged the investors to focus on the construction, pay attention to quality and comply with legal regulations, and draw in secondary investors for production and business.
Quyen also highlighted that the city has so far started the construction of 29 out of 43 planned industrial clusters, and the Thanh Van-Tan Uoc Industrial Cluster is the 30th.
He said this year, Hanoi aims to inaugurate 15 or 20 industrial clusters and build and expand another 10 to 15.
By 2030, the city plans to have 159 industrial clusters covering 3,204 hectares, expand five existing clusters by 45 hectares between 2017 and 2020, and build 21 new clusters totaling 536 hectares.
The upgraded 429A road will improve access from National Highway 21B to the left bank of the Day River and the Ho Chi Minh National Highway, supporting economic growth in Thanh Oai and neighboring Ung Hoa District.
"Hanoi has identified the development of economic and social infrastructure systems as an economic driver. To achieve the target of an average growth rate of 8.5% to 9% for industry and construction between 2021 and 2025, priority will be given to developing infrastructure for industrial and handicraft production," Quyen said.
