The exhibition on the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) community and Vietnam’s national holiday, titled “ASEAN cultural space”, including roughly 1,000 documents of historical value.
The exhibition will be held at the National Library of Vietnam in Hanoi from August 28 to September 15.
The event aims to highlight the 69th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day (September 2, 1945), the 47th anniversary of ASEAN (August 8, 1967), and 19 years of Vietnam’s entry into ASEAN (July 28, 1995)
The documents include a large number of photos, paintings, books and newspapers in different languages, featuring the image of Vietnamese people, special cultural characteristics, and a number of well-known literary, architectural, and cinematographic products of ASEAN countries.
The objects also introduce the historical meaning of the August Revolution and Vietnam National Day, and affirm the wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh and the great national unity as decisive factors for every victory of Vietnam’s revolutions.
An important highlight of the event is the documents reflecting the consensus and persistence among ASEAN countries in backing Vietnam’s sea and island sovereignty defence in the East Sea will also be showcased at the exhibition.
Come to the 18-day event, visitors will have an opportunity to learn more about Vietnam’s outstanding achievements obtained in economic growth, international investment, healthcare, education, culture and social affairs after 28 years of implementing its comprehensive ‘Doi Moi’ (renovation) process.
