The music event aims to enhance cultural exchange between police in Southeast Asia.
ASEAN Plus 2022 Police Music Festival began today [July 9] in Hanoi with the aim to boost cooperation among police in terms of music.
Attending the event are General To Lam, Vietnam's Minister of Public Security, and representatives of the embassies of Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, China, and Japan.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Lieutenant General Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Deputy Minister of Public Securit,y said: “ASEAN Plus 2022 Police Music Festival is a special arts event focusing on praising love for the homeland and tradition of the Public Security of Vietnam and ASEAN+ countries."
He also added that this is a special event within the framework of the activities to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Vietnamese People’s Police Forces (1962 - 2022). The international event serves as a good opportunity to promote the image of the country, the people as well as the police of Vietnam.
The festival gathers seven musical bands with over 400 artists from Vietnam, Japan, China, Brunei, Laos, the Philippines, and Myanmar.
After the parade by police forces that took place around Hoan Kiem Lake on July 9, a march of Vietnamese newly founded mounted police force will be held on July 10, followed by an art performance of 300 officers, soldiers, and students of the People's Police Academy on the same day.
The cultural event is aimed to demonstrate the officer’s virtues of friendship, humanity, and devotion to the people.
