Australia willing to support Hanoi's hosting of F1 racing

Currently, Australian partners are supporting Hanoi in the race organization until its inauguration in April 2020.

Australia is willing to support Hanoi’s hosting of Formula One (F1) racing and make it a success, Australia's newly-apointed Ambassador to Vietnam Robyn Mudie stated at a meeting with Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung on August 1.

Robyn Mudie said that Australia has vast experience in organizing F1 racing. The ambassador proposed Hanoi establish a F1-related working group with the participation of representatives from Hanoi and Australia.

The success of the event will become a highlight in the Vietnam – Australia relations, Robyn Mudie stressed.

For his part, the chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee thanked Australian partners and leaders for connecting and giving advise to Hanoi in building F1 racing track, as well as the active support in the process of setting up initial dossier and connecting Hanoi with Formula One Group, the owner of F1 auto racing.

Currently, Australian partners are supporting Hanoi in the race organization until its inauguration in April 2020.

Hanoi city’s leader wants Australia to keep supporting and exchanging experience in hosting the F1 event, that will become a milestone in Hanoi – Melbourne ties, a symbol for cultural and sport cooperation between the two countries.


On this ocassion, Chung wished that in her position, the ambassador will be a bridge to help further raise the two countries’ relationship, promote relations between Hanoi and Melbourne as well as other Australia’s localities.
