Brazilian press emphasizes  expanding strategic partnership with Vietnam

Brazilian media provided coverage of the Vietnamese Prime Minister's visit to the country.

THE HANOI TIMES — The Brazilian news outlet Novaresistencia described Vietnam as an important strategic partner for Brazil, particularly in terms of South-South cooperation and global supply chains, in its July 5 edition.

This assessment was made at the time of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s visit to Brazil for the 2025 BRICS+ Summit.

In an article titled "Vietnam-Brazil: Strategic Connectivity, Shaping the Future of Global Cooperation," Novaresistencia emphasized that the two countries' bilateral relations are entering a period of strong growth as they embark on a new era since establishing a Strategic Partnership in 2024.

The article portrayed Vietnam as a rising star in Asia with outstanding economic potential and a strategic geopolitical position. It also highlighted Vietnam's increasingly important role in global supply chains.

Citing official figures, Novaresistencia noted that the volume of bilateral trade surged fivefold from $1.5 billion in 2011 to over $7.7 billion in 2024.

The article also praised Vietnam’s strategies for developing high technology, the digital economy, clean energy, and biotechnology. With its extensive network of free trade agreements, Vietnam is seen as an effective bridge for Brazil to access Asian markets.

The outlet noted that Vietnam’s strategic influence extends beyond its ties with Brazil as it helps shape the future of the BRICS+ group and global collaboration.
