Bui Thi Minh Hoai was elected to the Politburo at the 9th Plenum of the 13th Party Congress on May 17, 2024.
The Hanoi Party Committee held a meeting today (July 17) to announce the Politburo's decision to appoint Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Politburo member and Head of the Central Commission for Mass Mobilisation, as Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee.

The meeting was attended by Luong Cuong, a member of the Politburo and Permanent Secretary of the CPV Secretariat, Le Minh Hung, a member of the Politburo and Head of the Central Organization Commission, and leaders of the Party and government in Hanoi.
According to Politburo Decision 1379 of July 17, 2024, Hoai is relieved of her duties as Head of the Central Commission for Mass Mobilization and appointed secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
Bui Thi Minh Hoai, 59, was born on January 12, 1965 in Thanh Tan Commune, Thanh Liem District, the northern province of Ha Nam. She became an alternate member of the Party Central Committee at the 10th Party Congress (2006) and a full member at the 11th Party Congress (2011). She has served as the Standing Deputy Head of the Vietnam Farmers' Association, the Standing Deputy Head of the Party's Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, and the Head of the Central Commission for Mass Mobilization.
She was elected to the Politburo at the 9th Plenum of the 13th Party Congress on May 16, 2024.
