Cat Ba among world’s five travel destinations for active travelers

For some people, traveling includes the activities of touring, relaxing by the beach or hotel pool, but for others, traveling includes getting their heart racing and adrenaline pumping through their veins.

Kayaking in Cat Ba karst archipelago in Hai Phong, Vietnam has been named among five travel destinations where one can keep fit while on holiday, according to a list released by Independent Media, one of South Africa’s leading multi-platform content companies.

“For those that are tempted to be in the water but have no desire to swim or surf – then perhaps grabbing a canoe and kayaking down a river would be a great idea to keep fit,” Independent Media wrote.
Independent Media advises travelers that kayaking allows for one to admire the beauty that nature has to offer while exercising your arms and core and a spot where you get some of the best views is around the craggy island of Cat Ba.
Travel down the river exploring Vietnam’s landscape of limestone pillars, while gliding through rocky arches and swimming in the green sea.
Yosemite traverse hiking trail (the US) tops the list, followed by Supertubes (Jeffreys Bay, South Africa), cycling in La Farola (Cuba), Yoga in Righikesh and the Ganges River Valley (India), Kayaking in Cat Ba karst archipelago (Vietnam).
Earlier, Cat Ba island has been names among the best beaches in Southeast Asia, according to a list released by Thrillist, online media brand covering food, drink, travel and entertainment.
“Wild and craggy Cat Ba Island, in Vietnam’s spectacular Ha Long Bay, has been tamed and civilized in recent years. Head away from civilization to Cat Co 2, the most relaxed of Cat Ba’s three beaches, which is dotted with bungalows offering views of the bay’s spectacular limestone mountain islands,” the Thrillist wrote.
In 2017, Cat Ba island received 2 million visitors, 450,000 of whom were foreigners. This has been the highest and most remarkable numbers for the tourism of the so-called “Pearl Island”, according to the Hai Phong Department of Tourism.
