As the year of Dragon has arrived, Politburo member and Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung extended his best wishes to compatriots, comrades, officers, soldiers, and people of the capital across the country and abroad.

The Hanoi Times respectfully presents the full text of the 2024 New Year Wishes Letter from Dinh Tien Dung, Politburo Member, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Head of the Hanoi National Assembly Delegation:

Dear compatriots, comrades and soldiers of the capital!

In the atmosphere of the whole country excitedly celebrating the Spring, the nation's traditional Tet – the year of the Dragon, marking the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2024) and the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Hanoi Party Committee (March 17, 1930 - March 17, 2024), on behalf of the city's Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi, I send compatriots, comrades, officers, soldiers and people of the capital in all parts of the country and abroad best wishes. I wish everyone and every family good health, happiness, and peace!

Dinh Tien Dung, a Politburo Member, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, and Head of the Hanoi National Assembly Delegation.

We have passed 2023, an important year, the preliminary year of the mid-term 2020 - 2025 Party Congress at all levels, with favorable conditions but many more difficulties and challenges than predicted. With the spirit of solidarity, bravery and intelligence under the direction of the Party Central Committee, Politburo, National Assembly and Government, the Hanoi Party Committee, administrations, armed forces and all walks of life have determined and united to overcome difficulties and challenges, focusing on implementing solutions to recover and develop socio-economic development sustainably.

Notably, we focused on building and perfecting institutions and policies to promote development resources for Hanoi and effectively handle problems. The city has achieved comprehensive results in many fields, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere in society. Hanoi continues affirming its position and prestige, making important contributions to the overall achievements of the country. The municipal Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi respectfully thanks and praises all compatriots, comrades, soldiers, officers, civil servants, public employees, workers, laborers, and the business community at home and abroad joined forces to create good results for the city in 2023.

The comprehensive results of 2023 are an essential premise for Hanoi to confidently move forward into 2024 - the year of acceleration to ensure the implementation and completion of goals for the five years of 2021 - 2025. The difficulties, challenges and tasks set for the city this year and the following years are extremely heavy, requiring effort and determination from the entire political system with fundamental and comprehensive solutions.

With the theme of 2024 "Discipline, responsibility, action, creativity, development" associated with implementing the Resolution of the 17th Congress of the Hanoi Party Committee, the Resolution of 13th Party Congress, and the Politburo's Resolution No. 15-NQ/TW dated May 5, 2022 on directions and tasks to develop Hanoi until 2030, with a vision to 2045, along with anniversaries, especially the 70th anniversary of the capital's Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024), the Party committees, authorities, Fatherland Front and political organizations at all levels need to create positive changes and deploy many strategic tasks, making Hanoi worthy of its status and position as the country's capital city.

Welcoming the year 2024, we are proud of Hanoi - the place of convergence, crystallization and shine with thousand years of culture and heroic traditions, where the talents of Vietnam, the city's compatriots, comrades and soldiers will further contribute energy and intelligence to the glorious tradition and achievements, while taking the use of opportunities, mobilizing resources to boost the capital's strengths in the development trend of the country.

Wishing all compatriots, comrades and soldiers of the capital enjoy a new year of happiness, peace and prosperity!
