Vietnam begins Covid-19 vaccination on March 8.

People in Hanoi get vaccine shots at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases 2 in Dong Anh district, where 100 doctors and medical staff of the hospital have been carefully prepared for the job.

At 7:00 a.m on March 8, Covid-19 vaccine was brought to the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases 2.

 The vaccine was carefully preserved.

According to the Ministry of Health, the amount of vaccine in the first phase is limited, thus the ministry only allocates Covid-19 vaccine to medical facilities that are treating Covid-19 patients and 13 provinces and cities where the pandemic broke out.

Nearly 500 doses of Covid-19 vaccine were allocated to the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases 2.

Medical staff will be carefully tested before being injected. If they have cough or fever, the injection will be postponed.

The injected people must be supervised for 30 minutes at the hospital and 24 hours at home. For emergencies, 24-hour follow-up is required at the hospital.

All people are thoroughly counseled before the injection.

The first shot is given to medical staff at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases 2.

The hospital has carefully prepared scenarios related to the process of receiving, storing and preserving vaccines, as well as counseling people on and monitoring the injection process.

Besides, plans are also available for emergencies. Medical staff have been trained and updated with knowledge related to Covid-19 vaccination in particular and vaccination regulations in general.
