Cost of two-week quarantine in Hanoi hotels averages US$728

The cost for 14-day quarantine period at three- to five-star hotels in Hanoi city ranges from VND16.8 million to VND56 million (US$728 - 2,427) per person.

People arriving in Hanoi from overseas who choose to spend paid quarantine at hotels rather than free quarantine centers should expect to pay an average fee of VND16.8 million (US$728) per person, Zing reported.

The cost for 14-day quarantine period at three- to five-star hotels in Hanoi city ranges from VND16.8 million - VND56 million (US$728 - 2,427) per person.

Talking with Zing, Le Thi Hien, managing director of Muong Thanh Grand Xa La Hotel (one of eight hotels repurposed to accommodate quarantined people by Hanoi’s government) said that average room charge here is around VND1.2 million (US$52) per night and VIP room charge is VND2 million (US$86.67) per night, including breakfast.

Thus, the minimum 14-day cost per person at Muong Thanh Grand Xa La Hotel is VND16.8 million (US$728), excluding lunch, dinner and other related services of the hotel, Ms. Hien added.

She confirmed that as the hotel is experienced in hosting guests for quarantine. It has prepared adequate staff, tools and food for guests in accordance with the regulations issued by the Ministry of Health.

On September 15, the Vietnamese government approved the reopening of six international air routes to safe destinations. Besides, Vietnam is planning to increase flights to repatriate citizens and bring back foreign experts, investors and skilled workers, resulting in around 2,000 incoming passengers per week.

The Hanoi’s government has decided to select eight hotels for quarantining foreign experts and skilled workers entering Vietnam, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Ngo Van Quy said at a recent meeting on Covid-19 response.

The municipal Department of Health will then ensure these arrivals undergo thorough health check sat Noi Bai International Airport before being transported to local quarantine facilities. All will be tested for Covid-19.
