CPI for June rises slightly by 0.3% over May

According to the General Statistics Office (GSO), June figure brought the country’s half-year inflation rate to 4.77%.

Consumer price index (CPI) for June rose slightly by 0.3% over May and 4.98% over a year ago, according to the General Statistics Office (GSO).
 
 
In its most recently released statistics, the GSO reported that the June figure brought the country’s half-year inflation rate to 4.77%.
Among the baskets of goods used for the CPI calculation, pharmaceuticals and healthcare services recorded highest growth (0.74%), while the education sector saw the lowest (0.01%).
The overwhelming majority of goods and services, such as food, tobacco, footwear, garment, construction materials and home appliances, experienced monthly growth of less than 1%.
Notably, prices of post and telecom services in June declined 0.13% compared to a month ago.
The GSO also reported that the domestic gold price dropped 0.12% in June, while the US dollar value went up 0.49%.
