Da Nang ranks second among top destinations worldwide for South Koreans
Da Nang city has been listed among the world`s top 10 destinations favored by South Korean families and couples, according to a recent analysis by tour operator Ticket Monster Inc.
Da Nang's ranking came after Japan's Osaka on the list of Ticket Monster Inc. The analysis is based on the number of tours booked in the next two months via the travel agency.
Da Nang city is followed by Tokyo in Japan, Bangkok in Thailand, the US's Guam Island.
Da Nang has become a popular destination for tourists from South Korea. South Korean holidaymakers totaled over 500,000, which accounted for the largest portion of the international arrivals in the city in the first five months of 2018, according to the municipal Department of Tourism.
Da Nang city has many tourist attractions and lots of gorgeous beaches stretching for miles. In addition, travel is made easier owing to many air services connecting South Korean cities with the central coastal city, according to Nguyen Ngoc Anh, Director of Omega Tours.
“South Korean travel agencies and air carriers have focused on operating, promoting to Da Nang,” said Nguyen Ngoc Anh.
The city received more than 3.2 million visitors in the first five months of 2018, a year-on-year rise of 30.4%. The number of foreign visitors arriving in Da Nang city in the period was estimated at 1.3 million foreigners, according to the Da Nang Department of Tourism.
The city hopes to welcome nine million visitors by 2020, with 30% being international holidaymakers, and rake in VND31.5 trillion (US$1.38 billion) in revenue.
