In its third edition, the event expands its international reach with participants from Australia, Singapore and other countries, alongside leading global tech experts. Participating teams will have a panel of experts that help them refine and develop their products.

The total prize pool is estimated at VND690 million (US$26,000), including VND500 million ($19,000) for the first prize, VND100 million ($3,800) for the second and VND50 million ($1,900) for the third, plus additional awards worth VND40 million ($1,500) and certificates from the organizers.

The competition give the steering committee of the Politburo’s Resolution No. 57 a broader view about the significance of data and the role of young people, said Major General Vu Van Tan, Director of the Police Department for Administrative Management of Social Order under the Ministry of Public Security.

"The contest is a real success when products are properly assessed and brought into real-life use," he told the kick-off ceremony on September 12.

Tan emphasized that data must be shared among all stakeholders as "it is one of the key driving factors of socio-economic growth and creates true values for the society."

The public security official expected that the contest will inspire creativity and attract more teams, including those from overseas.

“Competing with international teams showcases Vietnam’s capabilities, intelligence and potential,” he noted.
