Fireworks to light up Hanoi's 70th Liberation Day

The skies over Hanoi will be illuminated by aerial and ground fireworks, bringing joy and excitement to the city's residents.

The Hanoi People's Committee has approved a plan for fireworks to mark the 70th anniversary of the capital's Liberation Day [October 10, 1954 - 2024].

Under the plan, simultaneous fireworks displays will be held on October 10 at six venues in the city, including seven aerial and ground displays at Hanoimoi Newspaper and Hanoi Post headquarters (Hoan Kiem District), Lac Long Quan Flower Garden (Tay Ho District), F1 Racetrack Campus (Nam Tu Liem District), Thong Nhat Park (Hai Ba Trung District), Van Quan Lake (Ha Dong District), and Son Tay Ancient Citadel (Son Tay Town).

The show, which will take place at 9pm, will last 15 minutes and be broadcast live on television. The fireworks are estimated to cost more than VND9.9 billion (US$389,073) from the city budget.

The Hanoi Party Committee has asked relevant agencies and local authorities to closely coordinate fireworks plans, ensure security, order and traffic safety during the fireworks, and guarantee absolute safety for people before and after the event.
