First-ever aerial photos of F1 race circuit construction released

After half a year, some items of the project have been completed.

After six months under construction, the Formula 1 race track in Hanoi has progressed as scheduled towards its completion.

The Hanoi People’s Committee and Vietnam Grand Prix Company officially launched the construction of the F1 circuit on March 20 around the My Dinh stadium in Nam Tu Liem district.

The F1 race track is built on an area of 88 hectares including part of the campus of My Dinh Sports Complex and surrounding streets including Le Quang Dao and Le Duc Tho.

After half a year, some items of the project have been completed.

At the racetrack construction site, the foundation has been basically built.

Other items including the overpass, stands, and safety fences are also under construction as planned.

The F1 race site is in the making according to the proposed schedule.

The track features 22 turns over its 5.565km length running through some of Hanoi’s major streets such as Le Duc Tho, Thang Long avenue and Me Tri. The routes were inspired by the sections of the race circuits in Monaco, Germany, and Japan.

The operation center of F1 is the last item to be built.

The Hanoi race track is expected to allow racers to show off their best skills.

Besides the main track, there are some functional areas and support items including individual roads for replacing tires (Pit), track support area, and an event center, among others.

The areas for event will host a series of attractive activities aiming to introduce Hanoi and Vietnam’s culture including gastronomy.

The construction of the F1 circuit is projected to be completed in March 2020.
