Four teams win Start-up Israel 2014 competition

Four Vietnamese start-ups were named as the winners of the Start-up Israel 2014 competition on November 17.

The four Internet and mobile technology start-ups are Chomp, BraveBits and Younet, and Umbala.

Chomp, one of the nine start-up enterprises that received support in the Silicon Valley Vietnam Project, provides solutions for social networks to help marketers approach and interact effectively with targeted customers.
BraveBits is completing an e-commerce product called hiSella that helps shop-owners to track their customers on Facebook and get information on their best-selling products.
Younet has developed a cloud computing-based website called SocialHeat to collect and analyse automatically the comments of users of social networks and other websites.
Umbala is a mobile application that helps create 12-second videos with special effects that can be shared on popular social networks such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
The organising board of the awards said that it could not award any team in the field of agriculture and life sciences, because the 50 project submissions in the two areas did not show innovation and practicality.
In mid-December, a representative each from the four winning teams will go to Israel to learn about successful start-up models.
The nationwide competition was launched in September by the embassy of Israel, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Business Studies and Assistance Centre (BSA). Representatives of the embassy, the ministry, and the centre will accompany the winners in their trip to Israel.
