French pianist to enchant Vietnamese audiences with “Fairy, Dream, and Dance”
These special performances promise to treat audiences to an evening of wonder, introspection and sonic enchantment.
THE HANOI TIMES — Renowned French-Israeli pianist and conductor David Greilsammer will return to Vietnam in July for a spellbinding solo piano recital titled Fairy, Dream, and Dance. This will be his second tour of Vietnam, following the resounding success of his performances in 2024.

Acclaimed for his bold artistry and imaginative programming, Greilsammer will perform in five cultural destinations across Vietnam, including Hanoi, Hue, Danang, Da Lat, and Ho Chi Minh City. He will transform each stage into a space where classical music dances with dreams.
According to the French Institute in Vietnam, Greilsammer will then lead the audience into the shimmering world of Claude Debussy with "The Fairies Are Wonderful Dancers." Delicate and ephemeral, the piece evokes the weightless movement of mythical beings and the soft light of dawn, conjuring the serene silence of dreams.
The program will continue with gems by Maurice Ravel, George Gershwin, Henry Purcell, and others. The pianist selects these works not as isolated moments but as interconnected chapters of a story, a living and vibrant tapestry of sound.
David Greilsammer is not just a pianist. He is a musical visionary pushing the boundaries of classical performance. He has taken the stage at some of the world’s most prestigious venues from Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center to Wigmore Hall and the Concertgebouw. Renowned for his bold and genre-defying projects, Greilsammer has captivated audiences with innovative programs such as alternating sonatas by John Cage and Domenico Scarlatti to spark unexpected conversations between centuries.
In 2022, Greilsammer was appointed Principal Conductor and Music Director of the Philharmonie Medellín Orchestra in Colombia, a position that cements his global influence even further. That same year, he won the Grammy Award and the Classical: NEXT Innovation Award for his contributions to the evolution of classical music.
He will kick off his Vietnam tour in 2025 with performances on July 5 at the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra in Hanoi, on July 7 in Hue, on July 8 in Danang, on July 10 in Dalat, and on July 11 in Ho Chi Minh City.
