Special stamps mark 100 years of Vietnam Revolution Press

The special stamp set aims to commemorate the centennial of Vietnam's Revolution Press Day (June 21, 1925 – 2025) while highlighting the media’s transformation in the digital age.

THE HANOI TIMES  The stamp set released by the Vietnam Post Corporation pays tribute to the profound legacy and continued evolution of Vietnam's revolutionary journalism that is deeply rooted in the nation’s struggle for independence and its ongoing journey toward modernity.

The stamp and its first day cover to commemorates 100th anniversary of Vietnam's Revolution Press Day.

The commemorative stamp set features a single design created by artist Nguyen Du. It has a face value of VND4,000 (15 US cents) and dimensions of 43 x 32 mm. With its visually striking, modern graphic style, it encapsulates the enduring connection between tradition and progress.

At its heart, the stamp showcases the national flag of Vietnam flying proudly beside the portrait of President Ho Chi Minh, who is revered as the founding father and great teacher of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism. This central imagery pays homage to the historical foundations laid in 1925 when President Ho Chi Minh founded Thanh Nien (Youth) – Vietnam’s first revolutionary newspaper.

The envelope of the stamp set's first day cover.

Symbolism abounds in the design: a pen-shaped flagpole evokes the power of the written word in the struggle for national liberation, and digital binary code elements reflect the dynamism and innovation of today's press landscape, highlighting the media's transformation in the digital age. Surrounding visuals depict iconic publications from revolutionary periods such as Thanh Nien, Nhan Dan (The People), and Tap Chi Cong San (Communist Magazine), illustrating the press's continuous development in service to the nation

This newly released stamp set stands as a heartfelt tribute to generations of journalists dedicated to truth, public service, and national development. As a cultural artifact, it honors the past and inspires the present, encouraging the press to pursue integrity, creativity, and humanity in an ever-changing world.

The commemorative stamp set is available across Vietnam’s public postal network from June 19 to December 31, 2026.
