General election – a special event marks Vietnam's development: Hanoi Party chief

Hanoi’s voters with responsibilities and the pride of people living in the capital city will choose the worthy candidates to represent their community.

A high turnout in this early morning demonstrates their sense of responsibility and role in the election day.

Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung expressed his delight after having cast the ballot today [May 23] at the polling station No.17 in Dinh Cong ward, Hoang Mai district.

“I call for everyone to vote as each ballot has a great meaning. We are selecting the representatives for the highest organ of State power, which is the National Assembly, and locality-level legislative bodies, namely the People’s Councils,” said Dung.

Every vote, therefore, would contribute to the construction of a socialist country of the people, by the people, and for the people, Dung continued.

“Hanoi along with other provinces/cities have spared no efforts to host successful general elections with fairness, safety, and democracy,” Dung stressed.
