Global Student Fashion Week to make Hanoi rendezvous for young int'l designers

Themed Sustainable Fashion, the event will demonstrate skillful design techniques, convey strong messages about environmental responsibility, recycling culture and application of technology in modern fashion.

The Hanoi Times — Global Student Fashion Week 2025 (GSFW) will be held in Hanoi on December 4-9, bringing together 999 beauty pageant winners from around the world, 900 dancers, and more than 6,000 honored guests.

The event is anticipated to contribute to making Hanoi a shining destination on the world fashion map.

Le Tran Dac Ngoc, Chairman of GSFW, said that the event aims to become the largest international fashion week in Vietnam. It is expected to become one of the top ten fashion weeks in the world and usher in a new era for the global fashion industry.

The event will include parades that showcase sophisticated design techniques and convey strong messages about environmental responsibility, recycling culture, and the use of technology in modern fashion under the theme of Sustainable Fashion.

"The breakthrough of GSFW 2025 is to eliminate the distinction of positions on the runway. There is no first face or vedette, all models are equally honored. This demonstrates the spirit of innovation, breaking old standards and opening up a truly creative playground," said Ngoc.

In addition to beauty pageant winners from around the world, the event will also feature 500 beauty pageant winners from universities and colleges in Vietnam.

The event marks an important turning point in fashion education and aims to connect students with the fashion industry and the international fashion job market.

With the participation of Head of the Southern Organizing Committee Nguyen Nhu Quynh (Quynh Paris) and director Le Viet, the event is expected to become a revolution in student fashion. GSFW 2025 is a platform for up-and-coming designers to make their mark and get recognition.

At GSFW 2025, each young designer will present collections with a strong personal touch that reflects the new creative thinking and forward-thinking perspective on fashion of the Gen Z generation.

Breaking all traditional boundaries, GSFW 2025 will turn each collection into a living story, where each design is performed and inspired. Fashion, art, culture, and technology merge to create emotional performances using a combination of light, music, visual effects, and interactive technology.

As part of Global Student Fashion Week, the GSFW - Lighting up talent scholarship fund will be launched exclusively for fashion design students, offering them the opportunity to study, develop, and conquer the international market.

Global Student Fashion Week 2025 will also feature a Global Student Fashion Exhibition showcasing the best collections from schools around the world. The organizers have planned a series of accompanying activities for 12 months, aimed at expanding connections, educating and developing fashion students worldwide, such as the "My Team Is The Leader" competition for fashion clubs from universities, colleges, and high schools nationwide; seminars, workshops for students.

The program is supported by the Department of International Cooperation (the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) and the Vietnam Record Association.
