Noi Bai International Airport ready for the upcoming holiday season

The city’s airport has prepared enough backup counters for airlines to increase flights during the peak period.

Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi is ready for the upcoming holidays of the Reunification Day [April 30] and International Labor Day [May 1], which are expected to be the “peak of the peak” for aviation.

Facing great pressure from the high number of air passengers during the upcoming holidays, many airports in the country, including Noi Bai International Airport, have prepared to best ensure the smooth movement of people.

A representative of Noi Bai International Airport said that during the peak holiday in April, the airport traffic volume, especially the number of domestic flights, is expected to increase sharply, with around 400 flights and 75,000 domestic passengers on April 30 and May 1.

Besides, although international passenger traffic volume is at a low level with an average of more than 100 flights and 3.6 thousand international arrivals per day, there have been signs of growth since Vietnam opened its borders to international tourists.

To ensure the operating capacity in the peak hours, Noi Bai International Airport has coordinated with airlines and ground service units to identify the need to use check-in counters, aircraft doors, baggage conveyors so as to develop a suitable plan.

Moreover, the airport has prepared enough backup counters for airlines to increase flights during the peak period.

In addition, all 22 scanners will be switched on to ensure the fastest circulation and proactively control the number of visitors. All exit ticket gates will be opened. The airport security forces will be mobilized to regulate traffic in the airport premises.

Authorities of Noi Bai International Airport have required businesses providing ground transportation services (buses, trams, taxis, contract cars) to ensure enough vehicles during the peak period, especially for late night and early morning flights.

The airport has also requests ground transport services to ensure the quality of passenger service.

In order to ensure traffic order and safety, the airport has signed a regulation on coordination with the Hanoi Department of Transport to strengthen inspection and handling of offenses. It has also cooperated with the forces and State management agencies to conduct regular and short-notice inspections to detect violations of security, order and traffic safety in a timely manner.

Noi Bai International Airport recommends that passengers should make a medical declaration using PC-Covid software before boarding; prepare full identification documents; try to arrive at the airport two hours before boarding for domestic flights and three hours for international flights.
