Hanoi: All communes meet new-style rural criteria of health care

Hanoi has an extensive and comprehensive healthcare network which has effectively carried out healthcare programs.

All the communes in Hanoi meet new-style rural criteria of health care under the program of modernizing the countryside named New-style Rural Area Edification, according to the city's Coordination Office of the program.

Hanoi has an extensive and comprehensive health care network which has effectively carried out healthcare programs such as expanded immunization, malnutrition prevention and control, environmental sanitation, food safety, among others.

All communes in Hanoi have qualified medical staff, all communal health clinics have sufficient doctors and 87.2% of the city dwellers participate in health insurance. Up to now, 100% of the communes meet national criteria for health, an increase of 34 communes compared to the end of 2015.

Education and training also gained numerous achievements under the city's new-style rural area building. In the period of 2010-2015, 100% of communes basically met education and training criteria, and this result has been maintained so far.

Especially, 100% of rural households in the city have access to clean water, an increase of 16% compared to 2010. More than 57% of households use clean water according to the Ministry of Health’s standards.

Dissemination on food safety and hygiene is also enhanced. Hanoi has conducted activities on food safety education in 386 communes, 100% of food businesses have signed commitments to ensure food safety. Up to now, the whole city has 380 communes basically meeting environmental and food safety criteria, rising from 102 communes in 2015.
