Hanoi and Minsk eye strengthened economic cooperation

Vietnam and Minsk can invest in cooperation in matters of transport, construction of subway, works implicit, etc.

Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen The Hung met with visiting Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrei Dapkiuna on December 4 to discuss the prospects of economic cooperation.  

Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrei Dapkiuna thanked the Hanoi leader for the warm welcome and stressed the importance of collaboration between Hanoi and Belarusian capital of Minsk as part of Vietnam – Belarus cooperation. He pointed out transportation as a promising area that the two cities could work together.

In the field of economy and trade, Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrei Dapkiunasaid that the two cities should create opportunities for businesses to invest, create momentum for economic development of two cities individually and in two countries in general.
Andrei Dapkiuna said besides economic and trade cooperation, Hanoi and Minsk should draft a cooperation program for the period 2019 - 2020 to further exploit the potential and contribute to raising Vietnam – Belarus trade volume to US$500 million in the next two years.
On the potential areas of the cooperation program between Hanoi and Minsk, Andrei Dapkiuna said that the two cities can invest in cooperation in matters of transport, construction of subway, works implicit, etc.
On his side, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen The Hung highly appreciated the proposals of the Belarusian official, especially in relation to the friendship between Belarus - Vietnam in general and cooperation between Hanoi - Minsk in particular.
Agreeing with the deputy minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus regarding the signing of friendship cooperation minutes between Hanoi and Minsk, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee Nguyen The Hung said that this is very necessary.
In addition, Hung expected that the Belarusian side will carry out a re-evaluation of 32 buses previously provided to Hanoi, thus pointing out the existing mistakes to overcome, and help Hanoi have better products in the future.
