Hanoi and Moscow police to share crime prevention experience

The Government and people of Vietnam have always attached great importance to the Russian Federation's solidarity and valuable assistance in building and defending the country.

The Hanoi Police Department is ready to learn and share experience in crime prevention with its counterparts in Moscow, Russia, said Lieutenant General Nguyen Hai Trung, Director of Hanoi Municipal Public Security, during a working visit to the Main Directorate of Public Security of the Ministry of Interior of the Russian Federation in Moscow from April 10 to 17.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Hai Trung emphasized that the Government and people of Vietnam always attach great importance to the solidarity and valuable support of the Russian Federation for the construction and defense of the country.

Stressing the good relations between the two countries and between Hanoi and Moscow, he expressed hope that the two capitals will further strengthen their cooperation in the coming period to achieve impressive results.

For his part, Lieutenant General O.A. Baranov introduced the model of the Moscow Police Department and functional units of the Main Directorate of Public Security under the Ministry of Interior of the Russian Federation.

O.A. Baranov also informed about the status of Vietnamese people living and doing business in Moscow, while exchanging the results of crime prevention in 2022.

The Russian side will assist Hanoi police in training officers and send experts to Vietnam to teach and provide training on security, network security, administrative management and social order, O.A. Baranov said.

He added that the Moscow authorities will provide the best protection for Vietnamese citizens in the city within their capacity and conditions.

At the meeting, the two sides highly appreciated the traditional friendship and good relations between Vietnam and Russia in historical periods.

They also agreed to strengthen learning and exchange activities to promote deeper cooperation and share more experiences in warning and preventing crimes, especially high-tech crimes, transnational crimes, etc.

As part of the visit, the Hanoi delegation laid flowers in memory of late President Ho Chi Minh at Ho Chi Minh Square in Moscow.

At the invitation of Director of Hanoi Public Security Nguyen Hai Trung, Lieutenant General O.A. Baranov will visit Hanoi in May 2023 to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the two sides.
