As of May 19, 70 newsletters related to the upcoming general election have been sent to more than seven million Zalo user accounts in Hanoi, said Nguyen Thanh Liem, Director of the Hanoi Department of Information and Communication.

The result is made by the Hanoi Department of Information and Communication in collaboration with VNG JSC, the owner of Zalo - a free message and call application on mobile devices and desktops.

The municipal department has posted the official list of candidates for the 15th NA and the 16th Hanoi People's Council for the 2021-26 period on Zalo.

Nearly 500 news and articles related to the upcoming election were published on Lotus - a Vietnamese social network via the account of the department. The official news about the election work in the city are updated every day, according to the department.

“In the face of the current serious situation of the Covid-19 pandemic, the application of diverse communication forms on digital technology platforms is essential, ensuring effective dissemination on the general election and preventive tasks against the pandemic as well,” said Liem.

He said the department has required local branches, districts, and towns to spread the election's contents on their websites/portals. "Localities have designed propaganda banners and run sections dedicated to posting information about the election."

From March 11 to May 19, a total of nearly 5,100 news and articles related to the election were published in all types of newspapers of the city.
