Hanoi approves detailed planning for urban area along Yen So lake

The project to build a new urban area along Yen So lake and Yen So park will contribute to form a new urban center in the south of Hanoi.

Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen The Hung has signed the decision to approve the 1/500 detailed planning for the urban area along Yen So lake and Yen So park.

Under the decision, the project will be implemented in the area of in Thinh Liet, Yen So and Hoang Liet wards (Hoang Mai district). The total area is ​​191.67 ha, of which the area of ​​Yen So park is 149.61 ha (including 95ha of water surface), the land area for construction is 29.95ha, the rest is land for transport and urbanization. The new urban area will be able to house a population of about 12,800 people.

In the north and west, the project is adjacent to Yen So waste water treatment plant and new urban areas of Hoang Van Thu, Thinh Liet, Ao Sao, Dong Tau and urban center of Hoang Mai district. In the south, the project borders ring road 3 and the existing residential area. In the east, the project is adjacent to Nguyen Tam Trinh street and residential area.

The target is to build a new urban project along Yen So lake to form a new urban center of the city with the function of green park and recreation. In addition, the project contributes to diversifying types of houses (commercial houses, resettlement houses, social houses) to serve the needs of people and ensure the stable and durable development in the city. 

Based on the approved decision, the Hanoi People's Committee requests the Department of Planning - Architecture to appraise the composition of the detailed plan in accordance with current regulations and submit to the City People's Committee for approval.

People's Committee of Hoang Mai district and wards subject to the project are asked to coordinate to provide documents and data on the master plan for socio-economic development, current status of land use, works and projects in the area. It is necessary to create conditions for the construction unit to collect opinions of agencies, organizations, individuals and population communities related to the detailed planning.

The planning time will not exceed six months, from August 9, 2018.
