Through the forum, Hanoisme expects that businesses can seek opportunities for mutual cooperation and promote relationships within the association’s members.

Currently, Hanoi is home to more than 367,900 operating enterprises. In the first six months of 2019, about 13,000 enterprises have been granted business licenses, an increase of 13% year-on-year. However, the number of dissolved enterprises has been risen.

On the project of developing linkages between national small and medium enterprises (LinkSME) with the global supply chain funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Project Director Ron Ashkin said that with funding of nearly US$2.2 million, the project aims to strengthen the relationship between buyers and sellers, between Vietnamese small and medium enterprises and multinational companies in Vietnam to help local enterprises join the global value chain.

However, to qualify for the project, Vietnamese enterprises must meet a number of criteria such as sizable production areas, high-quality output, application of innovative materials and sources of energy,
Ron Ashkin added.

He stressed that Vietnamese enterprises must improve technical equipment to increase labor productivity, produce energy-saving and environmentally-friendly products in accordance with Vietnam’s law on environmental protection. Especially, they must apply sustainable measures for environment protection.
