The activities aim to communicate 70 years of achievements in the construction and development of the thousand-year-old capital city; showcase the unique cultural features and heritage of Hanoi - the City for Peace, the Creative City; foster the cooperative relationship between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) in exploiting the potential and advantages of cultural heritage, tourism, services, trade and other fields.

They will also create the conditions to bring visitors from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi and vice-versa.

The Mayor stressed that "Hanoi Days in Ho Chi Minh City" will be held in an innovative and creative way to give the people of HCMC a good impression of the capital's unique beauty, cultural heritage and achievements.

The program's opening ceremony is slated to take place between August 23 and 25 at the Nguyen Hue walking street in HCMC's District 1.

There will be an exhibition of documents related to the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the capital and an artistic performance of "youth melodies" from the two cities.
