The event aims to promote public perception of the capital city and enhance links between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the two major cities.
At Nguyen Hue Walking Street this evening, the “Hanoi Days in Ho Chi Minh City” festival opened to start the three-day cultural event promoting the capital city as a political and administrative center rich in culture and traditional values.
Titled “Hanoi’s Marks”, the event is one of the important activities in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the city’s Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 – 2024).
Vu Thu Ha, Deputy Chairwoman of the Hanoi People’s Committee, said the event aims to boost the image of Hanoi and the connection between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the two biggest cities in Vietnam.
It’s also part of activities celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Southern Liberation and National Reunification.
Attending the event includes Tran Sy Thanh, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee; Nguyen Van Phong, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee; Nguyen Van Nen, Politubro’s member, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Phan Van Mai, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, among others.
