Hanoi delegation visits New York and Washington, DC

The Hanoi delegation led by Vice Secretary of the city Party Committee, Chairwoman of Hanoi People’s Council Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc paid a working visit to cities of Washington, D.C. and New York (US).

At Washington, D.C., the delegation worked with the Vice Heads of D.C. Council and related staffs.
Two cities’ officials briefed about socio-economic performance of Hanoi and Washington, as well as Council’s activities. Washington’s officials shared about social welfare issues including jobs, houses, healthcare insurance, social insurance, education. Both sides exchange experiences in issuing resolutions and monitoring the law enforcement agencies conducting the resolutions in soci-economic development.

Chairwoman of Hanoi People’s Council Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc thanked the warm welcome as well as precious experience shared by the D.C'.s side. She expressed the hope that the two cities would keep connecting and sharing about issues of mutual concern in the time ahead.
On April 2, during the working session with New York’s Council, the Hanoi delegation listened to the Council briefing on its structure, functions, mission and activities and experience of developing soci-economy and raising citizens’ living standards. New York officials also discussed on how its units make direct contact and consult opinions from the citizens, enterprises and organizations to form effective policies. Both sides talked on credit-rating procedure between the council’s representatives and its leader.

Also, during March 30- April 2, the Hanoi delegation had a trip to the White House, the National Assembly Building, the Pentagon, the Lincoln and the Thomas Jefferson Memorials, the Space Museum and Art Museum etc…
The delegation worked with Vietnam Embassy in the US, Vietnam mission to the United Nations (UN). At the working reception, Chairwomen Ngoc introduced Hanoi’s highlighted socio-economic achievements and investment chances. Hence, the Vietnamese Ambassador to the US and Head of Vietnam Mission to the UN can exchange useful information with potential partners and investors of Hanoi.
Ngoc also announced the trip’s result to the Ambassador, Head of Mission as well as thanked their support for the delegation’s trip.
