Hanoi - Denmark to cooperate technology transmission for environmental protection

On May 31 afternoon, Chairman of Hanoi People`s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung received Ms. Charlotte Laursen - Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Denmark Kingdom in Vietnam for courtesy visit.

Charlotte Laursen Ambassador congratulated Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung on his new position. She is pleased to announce that the celebrations for 45 years of Vietnam - Denmark diplomatic tie with the numerous interesting programs to take place in Hanoi. She hopes that these activities will be successfully organized.

According to Ambassador Charlotte Laursen, some big Danish companies are present in Hanoi, and in Denmark, there are many companies that would like to invest in Vietnam, in many fields such as renewable energy, especially wind power.

Thanked for the good feelings of Ambassador Charlotte Laursen, Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung confirmed that Hanoi will coordinate closely with the Embassy of Denmark to create the most favorable conditions, so that the program will successfully take place to ensure absolute safety.

Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung confirmed that Hanoi always respects source of foreign direct investment (FDI), particularly from European businesses, which focus on the fields of high technology, clean technology, especially IT. The City also promote the reform of administrative procedures, facilitating FDI investors in Hanoi. Hanoi will strengthen solutions for environmental protection, expect that in next five years, Hanoi will grow 1 million trees; build 25 parks, of which 5 parks will meet the world's standards; 70% of wastewater in urban areas will be thoroughly treated in 2020. In June, 2016, Hanoi will pilot the model using the energy from sunlight in rural areas.

Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung desired that the Ambassador of Denmark will inform the whole policy of Hanoi; at the mean time strengthening the connection between Vietnamese enterprises with Danish enterprises and companies in Europe to implement the above objectives. In particular, the priority for accessing technology transmission and processing advanced technology in improving the environment, to ensure a sustainable environment for the people, as well as achieving the objective of constructing the Capital to be civilized, modern, green - clean - beautiful.
