The planning process should be completed by 2025.

The Hanoi People's Committee has made a plan on building four more industrial parks in the city.

These projects are part of the city's urban development strategy for the period 2021-2025 and will include the 302.8-hectare Soc Son Clean Industrial Park in Soc Son District, the 300-hectare Dong Anh Industrial Park in Dong Anh District, the 112-hectare Bac Thuong Tin Industrial Park in Thuong Tin District, and another park in Thuong Tin District named Phung Hiep Industrial Park covering 174.8-hectare.

The Hanoi Export Processing and Industrial Zones Authority (HIZA) has been assigned to build the plans for these four industrial zones to ensure completion by 2025. The precise boundaries and sizes of each project will be adjusted during the planning process.

Hanoi currently has ten industrial parks covering an area of 1,300 hectares, nine of which are operational and fully occupied. The tenth, the Hanoi South Support Industrial Park, is under construction.

In 2022, businesses located in these industrial parks generated revenue of US$8.1 billion, an increase of 4.1% over the previous year. These parks are home to 711 active projects, including 307 from foreign investors with a total registered capital of $6.3 billion and 404 from domestic investment worth VND19 trillion ($803.5 million). They also provide jobs to nearly 166,000 locals.

Hanoi's goal for the period of 2021-2030 is to have 24 industrial parks with a total area of 5,831 hectares. The combined export turnover of the companies in industrial parks last year was estimated at $5.1 billion, a 4.3% increase, while they imported goods worth $4.3 billion, up 4.7%.
