Medical work must be given higher priority than ever and requires high responsibility of the medical staff.

Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Health Tran Van Chung said that the Management Boards of isolation facilities, either those run by the military forces or hotels, must strictly comply with isolation procedures for incoming people.

“Not only in isolation facilities, the management boards of hospitals, nursing homes, public transport businesses, supermarkets, shopping centers and wet markets also need to strictly implement Covid-19 prevention protocols," Mr. Chung emphasized.

The department is in charge of ten medical centers at the National Convention Center, where the 13th National Party Congress is slated to takes place, as well as hotels for delegates. It has developed a specific and detailed plan for medical emergencies.

Besides, five general hospitals of Saint Paul, Duc Giang, Thanh Nhan, Dong Da and Ha Dong have arranged quarantine areas and stood ready to admit and treat suspected Covid-19 cases.

Nguyen Khac Hien, the department's director, said that medical work must be given higher priority than ever and requires high responsibility of the medical staff. "For days, the medical force has conducted many emergency drills to ensure the success of the Party national congress."

Hanoi is currently placing the task of preventing and combating the Covid-19 pandemic on the highest priority level, contributing to the success of the congress and ensuring safety for people during Tet holiday.
