Hanoi enhances economic partnership with UK

On Sep 22, Chairman of Hanoi’s People Nguyen Duc Chung met British Ambassador to Vietnam Giles Lever.

Ambassador Giles Lever reaffirmed, the cooperation between UK and Hanoi city developed continously during the pas time. Contributing remarkably to this achievement, British Business Group Vietnam collaborated closely with Department of Trade Promotion (UK’s Embassy in Vietnam) to seek, support and offer consulation for British enterprises aiming to operate in Vietnam and Hanoi city as well.
In one recent effort, BBGV intends to hold the conference “Hanoi – BBGV: Enhance Economic Partnership”in Oct 2017, to promote further, deeper tie between BBGV’s member and community of Hanoi enterprises. On behalf of BBGV’s leader board, Ambassador Giles Lever introduced about the innitiative, and ask for the approval, support from Hanoi authority. He asserted, the presence of British enterprise in Hanoi would contribute to the city’s sustainable development.

In framework of the meeting, Vice President of BBGV Christhopher Jeffery introduced about the typical activities, the operation scale and vision of the Group. Vice President of the group is in high hope that BBGV would expand the connecting network in Vietnam, with Hanoi city being the first priority destination. “In the future, we hope to earn more chances to contribute to Hanoi city’s development”, Christhopher Jeffery pressed.
Highly appreaciating BBGV activities’s in Hanoi, Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung affirmed that, the group had contributed positively to the city growth. Specifically, with the support of BBGV, Hanoi authority pilots the dual-training of Vietnam high school bachelor and Cambridge International A Level. The program is carried out by Chu Van An Hanoi High School and Cambridge International Examinations (CIE). About “Hanoi – BBGV: Enhance Economic Partnership”in Oct 2017, Chairman of Hanoi’s People Committee pledged to facilitate and ensure the success of the event.
On this occasion, Chairman of Hanoi’s People Committee Nguyen Duc Chung appraised effective and practical acitivities of UK’s Embassy in Hanoi to enhance the cooperation between UK and Hanoi city. Hence, Mr Nguyen Duc Chung proprosed Ambassador Giles Lever kept being the firm bridge connecting bilateral cooperation in potential fields: education, finace-banking, trade, IT, legal and construction… etc.
Agreeing with proposal from Hanoi’s Chairman, British Ambassador to Vietnam reaffirmed that, he would try his best as the connector for upcoming collaborations between Hanoi and UK.
