The two projects, worth a combined US$3 million, was the gift of the Party, Government, and People of Hanoi to the Party, State, and People of Vientiane.

Attending the ceremony was the Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Tran Sy Thanh and the Governor of Vientiane Athsaphangthong Siphandone, along with representatives of agencies and units from the two capitals.

 Overview of the groundbreaking ceremony.

The combined area of both projects is 2.5 hectares, including two three-story buildings, a meeting room and other facilities, with a total construction time of 12 months.

At the ceremony, leaders of the two capitals noted that the groundbreaking was only the beginning of the construction process and asked related agencies and the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos to supervise the process to ensure quality and progress.

 Hanoi's mayor Tran Sy Thanh.

They shared the view that the construction of the headquarters of Vientiane’s Justice Department and the Public Prosecutor's Office would be another symbol for the strong relations between Hanoi and Vientiane, further contributing to the development of Vientiane in the next period.

Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Tran Sy Thanh said that based on the project document from Vientiane's authorities, Hanoi would provide all necessary support as agreed by the two sides.

 The design of the projects.

“Hanoi stands ready to accompany Vientiane during its development process,” said Thanh.

During his working trip to Laos from November 4-5, Hanoi’s mayor attended the conference on trade, investment, and tourism connection between Hanoi and Vientiane in 2022.

This event follows a similar conference held in Hanoi in August to break new ground in economic cooperation between the two capitals and support the development of businesses in Hanoi and Vientiane.
